Ancestry of Royal Haze Automatic
As we implied in the intro, Royal Haze Automatic belongs partially to the prestigious Haze lineage. The exact origin of Haze genetics remains unknown, although they are thought to stem from a mix of ancestors from Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, and India. Pioneering breeders from Santa Cruz combined this medley of international genetics to give rise to Haze during the 1970s.
Other US breeders used the resulting strain as the foundation to create Amnesia Haze, a successful award-winning variety and parent of Royal Haze Automatic. Selected for her long-lasting effects and high THC levels, Amnesia Haze underpins her motivating high. But where does this potent and speedy auto get the rest of her genetics from?
RQS breeders decided to throw another legendary cultivar into the mix—Skunk. This famous hybrid stems from two sativa landraces (Colombian Gold and Acapulco Gold) and a pure indica from Afghanistan. Cannabis smokers all over the plant appreciate her strong effects and earthy flavours. She adds some deeply relaxing terpenes into Royal Haze Automatic’s phytochemical profile.
After crossing these two titans, our breeders introduced autoflowering genetics from a robust ruderalis strain to perfect the cultivar. Following a period of stabilising the genetics, a consistent phenotype emerged ready for the market.
Growing Royal Haze Automatic
Royal Haze Automatic delivers the best traits of Amnesia Haze and Skunk in a smaller and fast-growing package. The addition of Ruderalis genetics makes her extremely easy to grow, beginner-friendly, and resistant to stress.
Her compact stature and efficient speed make her an ideal choice for commercial growers looking for a fast turn around and hobbyists seeking instant gratification. She also works wonders for cultivators looking to keep things low key and grow under the radar.
She forms a dense and bushy canopy and yields easily to training, allowing growers to shape her to suit their needs. Left to express her genetics at will, she’ll form a tall central cola surrounded by lateral flowering sites.
Most growers get good results by implementing low-stress training early on in the vegetative stage. Tying her tip to the rim of the containers will cause her side branches to grow upwards. This promotes more even canopy growth and increases the number of primary bud sites.

Topping Royal Haze Automatic early on will also promote more bud sites. However, autos grow so quickly that recovering from this harsh form of training may reduce yields slightly. Be sure to defoliate her during early flowering to boost canopy aeration, enhance light penetration, and reduce the risk of mould.
Indoor growers can expect plants to grow to between 65-85cm, depending on pot size and training techniques. She’ll produce a rewarding yield of 300-350g/m² after a rapid flowering time of 5-7 weeks. After germination, she’ll surge from a young seedling to a fully mature specimen in a total of 10-12 weeks. Get your stash jars ready early, you’ll be smoking before you know it.
Plants grown outdoors reach a taller height of 120-150cm and produce a return of 130-180g/plant. Royal Haze Automatic thrives in raised beds, containers, and greenhouses, and features impressive resistance to pests and fungi. Sow some companion plants in close proximity to give her a helping hand against these threats.
